Savannah's Baptism Day

After the longest month known in the history of man, Savannah was FINALLY able to get baptized on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. Because her birthday was October 24, she had missed the October baptisms and had to wait until November. Boy you would think it was worse than dying! But she had a great day with family and friends. We wish Grandma and Grandpa Forsgren had been there, but we know they were there in spirit. Savannah was able to wear her new baptism dress and the beautiful necklace and bracelet Grandma Forsgren gave her! What a great day for our very special girl!

Phantom of the Opera!

3rd row + smack in the middle + 2 daughters + 1 good friend = FANTASTIC NIGHT!

I will never forget the first time I saw Phantom of the Opera. I was at BYU and my brother and friends were driving to California to see it. I decided I wanted to go, so they let the "little sister" come along. It was sooo great, I loved it! Even though we were in the cheap $25 nosebleed seats. I also remember driving home and getting home around 3 a.m. I was driving toward the end and totally falling asleep. I think we were 1/2 hour from home, and I couldn't keep my eyes open any more so I had to trade out with someone for the last 30 mins.

Second time I saw it was after Lane and I had been married about 1 year. We won airline tickets to fly to California, and I said we HAD to go see Phantom. So we went - again in the cheap $25 nosebleed seats.

So, fast forward 17 years and I got to go again (sadly without Lane - he was still way too sick to go :( ) I loved taking my girls, and my good friend Lezlie who was nice enough to fill in at the last minute ;) (She assures me it wasn't a problem!) Can I just say I MUCH prefer the 3rd row, and am afraid I won't be able to see another show if I'm not down there! It was so worth the extra money! Your body shakes with the music, you feel every note down to your bones! Wow, what I wouldn't give to have the talent like that and be on Broadway. Maybe in my next life, huh?

Savannah was sitting there in awe over the good seats, looking at the program. She read something about becoming a VIP. She asked me what that was. I explained. She then asked, "Are we in the VIP seats? Cause these are really good seats!"

That was a good night.

The Casa Grande Sprint Triathlon!!!

For the second year in a row, I decided to do the sprint triathlon in Casa Grande. I convinced a couple of friends to come and do it with me too! It was so fun! I really loved doing it last year, and wanted to improve my time this year. Too bad I only shaved 3 minutes off my time, but hey - it was fun! I love having something to train for!

Crossing the finish after a quick 3 mile run. Even with a bad side-ache I clocked my best 3 mile time so far! Did it in 25 mins - and that's after the swim and bike! But, I shouldn't brag right? Surely it was a fluke.

Just have to mention my friend Beth took 1st place in her age group! She rocked! She trains like a maniac. I wish I had her drive. Oh well. I took 26th out of 80 in my age group. The winner of the women did it in 1:10:28. I did it in 1:19:00. So looks like I have my work cut out for me if I want to win the whole thing next year! ha!

Can't wait for the next one!

Happy Birthday Savannah!!!

What kind of party do you have for a girl turning 8 born exactly one week before Halloween? Why, a costume party of course! After changing her mind about 8 times, we finally agreed a costume party at the park would be the perfect way to celebrate our sweet Savannah turning 8! She had her friends come and we played Halloween games like the mummy wrap, donut eating contest, freeze dance, Halloween bingo, etc. We had a blast! Now Savannah can't wait to get baptized this month!

Our little Savannah has the best heart. She is soooo sweet and caring. She loves to play with Conner and Addi, and idolizes her older sister. She loves to sing in her singing group, and LOVES to read. She really is the biggest bookworm. Incredibly book smart - we are working on the common sense part :)

Savannah Fe was prayed here by her big sis. That's why her middle name is Fe (pronounced fay - but meaning "faith" in Spanish). Kayla was 5 1/2 when I finally got pregnant with Savannah. We had been waiting a long time and finally got pregnant while in Guadalajara. When I was 3 months along, I started bleeding like crazy on the way home from a tennis match! I was sure I had lost our baby. But, she was OK, I was put on bed rest for a couple of months, and she made it full term. In fact, she weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. just like Kayla! Ugh! Pushing that out wasn't fun! Anyway, we love our little "Mexican" and are so happy to have her in our family!

Oh be so thankful we eventually get hair thick enough to lay down. Addi's morning hair always starts my day with a smile!

A Day at the Phoenix Zoo!

This week is Fall Break. Lots of people gone - not us. We knew Lane would be sick so we are hanging at home having a "staycation" instead of a vacation. It actually has been pretty fun - thanks to friends and neighbors!

Monday the kids did a movie with dad. Ice Age 2. So sorry I missed that one. Not really.

Tuesday was the zoo with my friend Sherry and her boys. We had a great time. Really.

Wednesday - friend day.

Thursday - friend day as well. We were going to do a bounce house, but the kids are pretty much treating the downstairs like a huge bounce house, so I figure this one is free, and the other costs a lot. I always like free!

Friday - Mesa Museum - should be fun!

That about sums up all that has been going on, if you don't count the hundreds of hours spent cleaning up after Addi - washing walls, floors, cleaning up broken glass, hiding things, hiding more things, finding her drinking the liquid children's ibuprofen . . . you know, just the norm! Seriously, someone help me because one of us isn't going to survive these 2's!!!!!!
