Oh Savannah . . .

We were at the dinner table tonight when Savannah asked, "Dad, what day did Jesus die?" Lane says, "On a Friday" Oh, but like what month? asks Savannah. "Well, we don't really know the exact time," says Lane. "You should check the internet" says Savannah.

Yup, just check the internet. Wow, if only life were that easy! :)

Check out Addison's new trick!

Yup, she is a climber. We wanted a boy, but apparently just got the boy in the girls' body! That's OK, we'll take it. This is her latest trick. (And yes, we know the belly button isn't normal! :) She's only 13 months old. I think we're in trouble!

Some technological help please!

OK, I wanted to change my blog because EVERYONE has a cuter blog than me! :) Well, I got the new background on, but the old one is still there on top of it! ugh! Will someone who knows what the heck they are doing call me and help me? Tricia? Anyone?

Time for a haircut!

So he doesn't look the most excited, but Conner loves getting his hair cut. Funny how a haircut can make his eyes and eyelashes stand out so much! Is it OK to love your boy WAY too much? He is the best boy ever - no offense to anyone else's boy - of course!

Monday night for family night, Kayla did the lesson. She had this whole lesson with stories, cutouts, games, etc. on the Plan of Salvation. Then she decided for our dessert she needed to do a "Plan of Salvation" cake. So, that's what she did. If you look, she has the pre-mortal life, earth, then the 3 kingdoms. They are all labeled with printed labels from the computer. Now, where the Kayla Rox fits into the plan - I'm not quite sure, but we had a great night. She is one creative kid, and we sure love her!

Another 3 months . . . .

Lane and I got back from Houston last night, with another 3 month live free pass! That's what we call it when we get scans that show no cancer growth, and we go back in 3 months to get scanned again. We were a little worried this time that maybe the tumors had started to grow and he was going to have to do chemo, yet at the same time we felt peace and knew everything would be OK. Well, when we met with the doctor, he said the tumors hadn't grown, and some had actually shrunk a little more! yea! We are feeling soooo blessed that he was able to do this clinical trial that had no side effects, and he feels good. Our prayers were definitely answered yesterday! So, now we'll go before or after Christmas, and hope there is still no change! :)

We were just glad to get out of there yesterday, because hurricane Ike is supposed to hit in the next couple of days!

Where were you on 9/11/01?

I will never forget - as I'm sure none of you will either - what I was doing when the twin towers were hit.

We were living in Guadalajara, Mexico and I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. Kayla was off to school and I was sitting in a chair with my feet up at the computer playing Solitaire and watching The Today Show. All of a sudden the footage changed to showing the WTC on fire, and talking about how some sort of plane had crashed into it. I thought at first it was a commercial for a new movie or something, but then to my horror and shock started to realize that it was not a commercial, but real life. I then watched as the second tower got hit, and all the ensuing chaos.

The kicker here was that Lane was in Boston, flying home that very day. They said a plane had originated from Boston, but was flying to CA, so I knew it wasn't his plane. He ended up being stranded in the states for 4 more days, and had to drive to Connecticut to get a flight out and home. I remember being in shock, and feeling bad that I couldn't be in my country to help in some way, yet I also felt very safe because I wasn't in my country, and I was pretty sure terrorists weren't going to come and get me in Guadalajara Mexico!

I can't believe 7 years have passed since it all happened. Our country has been forever changed, and not all for the better (I am imagining the pain it is to go through security at the airport now). But, it is one more thing that united us and brought out the best in people everywhere. Even Mexico. I was surprised how many Mexicans expressed their condolenses to me about what happened to my country. It was actually pretty neat.

I've been tagged!!

So here's the deal: Post these rules on your blog. List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 regrets, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

Joys:

1) Tennis
2) Chocolate
3) A happy family

Fears
1) Not winning the fight against "C"
2) My kids making huge mistakes that affect their life in a bad way.
3) Mice and Rats!!!!

Regrets
1) Not playing tennis in high school and college.
2) Graduating in Communications, but not Broadcasting - I would have LOVED to be a sportscaster!
3) I couldn't control it - but having 6 years between Kayla and Savannah - wish we could have had one more in there, and then I would have been done having kids 4 years ago!
Facts
1) I am too busy, and I know it, but somehow don't know how to stop it. Just don't let Lane know I admitted that! :)
