We're in!

Hey! We survived the big move, and are settling in! It has been 2 weeks now since moving to the new house, and lots of things are in place and organzied, and life is good!

I have to thank my sis-in-law Kami for letting me host her baby shower here Thursday night, 11 days after moving in! Do you know why? Because that forced me to get everything done fast! I must say I worked fast and furious each day, but the house was presentable for a beautiful baby shower! Wow, my other SIL Shauna went all out and made an amazing display for the food tables and stuff. It was really fun.

It has been hovering around a nice balmy 113-115 degrees here this week. What the heck? Where in my marriage contract did it say I will go and live in a burning hell (aka Arizona) and raise my kids and be happy about that? I am pretty sure that must have been the fine print that I glossed right over in my delirium to marry the man of my dreams. Oh well. I just can't wait for the pool to get finished - living in AZ in the summer with no pool - not priceless!

It's the final countdown!

So the long awaited/dreaded move is finally going to take place this Saturday. Yes, we are moving into the new house and I am dreading having to pack up this house! The last few times we've moved the company moved us, so there wasn't a whole lot of packing to do! I got spoiled. Now we have to rely on the Elder's Quorum, and hope that not just old High Priests show up! :)

So in the hustle and bustle of packing and loading the car to take stuff over, yesterday I backed out of the garage . . . . and the back door of my Yukon was still open and up. Hmm.... that was not a good sound. What did I do? Thank heaven the door is perfectly intact. However, I can't say as much for the frame of the garage door. It seems to have been pulled away from the house and will need a little repair. Ugh.

Then, today I was cruising down the road at my normal speed of too fast, and a friendly police lady decided to remind me why there are speed limits by giving me a $170 ticket for doing 60 in a 45! Why 45 in wide open space I will never know. Oh well. I had all 4 kids with me. Savannah in the back asked how much it will cost, and I said probably around $200. She said, "Oh great, now we're going to be poor and we can't afford our new house!" Oh Savannah - if you only knew!
