Is she really a senior ready to graduate?

Honestly, was it really almost 18 years ago my life changed forever and I had this beautiful girl?  How can it be?

OK, so now that the nostalgia has passed, can I just say this is one heck of an expensive girl?  The last month alone I've paid $300 for tennis lessons, $150 for a prom dress, $200 for a new tennis racket, $50 for senior pictures (thank heaven for friends who do it!), $200 in doctor visits, and given her her regular allowance and bought $120 of clothes because she "needs" them.  Will sending her to college be cheaper?  Then she'll have to find her own money for all those "necessities!"  Heaven help the boy she marries - he better be rich! :)

By the way, I know I haven't blogged in about 6 months.  Blogger wants to charge me a monthly fee because I've reached my limit on storage for pictures?  What the heck?   I don't want to pay a monthly fee, so I may have to start a different blog at a new address and continue there!  We'll see.

Conner's first Pack Meeting and Award

Conner has been so excited to be a scout like all his friends.  He also was excited to go to his first Pack Meeting and get his Bobcat award.  I think he was most excited to get out of football practice 1 hour early!! (That will be another post for another day)
I see a long road of boy stuff and scout stuff that I don't want to do but need to do to get this boy his Eagle. Good thing I only have 1 boy! :)

Sports family

(Thanks to General Conference today, I'm getting caught up on the blog! :) )

We all know Lane is a Diamondbacks fanatic.  We are in our 7th year of season tickets.  Glad he has something to relax, unwind and enjoy that doesn't hurt his knees, back, shoulder, etc.

So of course Lane takes the kids one at a time throughout the season, but we try to take the whole family once or twice.  This time we managed to get the 3 little ones with us.  Addi sometimes makes it a looooonnnngg night. :)

Mom! Take a picture of me with this cute player!

So now a hilarious story about the games.  Last week was the last week of home games for the Dbacks.  Lane and I went to the game Monday night, and Tuesday afternoon, he had been given special passes to come to the batting practice, meet some of the players, then go to the game that night.  He got 4 tix, so was taking the 3 older kids.  Me and Addi would hang at home.

We got home around 10:30 Monday night, and I went in to check on Addi, and this is what I found on her floor.  Uh oh, we were in trouble!!  Lane didn't have any intention of taking her, but apparently she didn't get the memo!

So, the next day, Lane called his representative and was able to get another ticket for Addi.  All the kids came home from school decked out in their D-backs attire and anxiously waiting dad to come and get them.

They had been home 10 mins. and the doorbell rang.  It was Becca - Addi's best friend in the world who lives across the street. (Happens to be my favorite little girl too!)  She asked Addi to come and play with her at their friend Sophie's house.  Addi was begging to go.  I said, "No!  Dad is coming to take you to the D-backs game!"

"Nooooo!!!!!  I don't want to go to the D-backs!  I want to play with Becca!!!!!"

Yup, Becca trumped the D-backs, and Lane thankfully didn't have to take the 5 year old to a LONG afternoon and night of baseball!  Kids are too funny.

Addi and Becca
Turns out the "meet the players at practice" really works!  Kayla was in heaven as they posed with Chris Young (Her future husband she says).  Special thanks to Savannah for calling him over!

And here is Paul Goldschmidt!  They were in heaven!!

For Father's day clear back in June, I bought 2 tix to the Cardinals/Broncos pre-season football game to give Lane.  As I have said many times, it is impossible to buy this guy "things" because he has every "thing" he wants.  So, I try to buy experiences.  We love sports, so this would be fun.

As an added bonus for me, Peyton Manning plays for the Broncos, so I got to see him close up!  That was cool!

The bummer was that I bought my tix 2 months early, and my brother in law Steve bought tix the day before, and was actually 2 rows in front of us, and paid $20 each instead of $70 each that I paid!!!! Ugh!  I swear, if it is something that isn't totally sold out, you should always wait until the end to get tix because people buy them, then realize they have something going on, and sell them for almost nothing!!! I knew that, but I had to have something to give Lane!

Well hello Mr. Manning! :)

We ran into my friend/tennis partner and her friend at the game.

Now this last picture isn't a "sport" per se, but my nephew Tyler got a beautiful new motorcycle!  I was asking if I could take it for a spin, and got a kick out of the reaction of Tyler and his mom Sara when I told them I know how to ride a motorcycle, and in fact rode a dirt/road motorcycle to high school many times when I was a senior.  Yes, I was horrifically embarrassed to go to school on a dirt bike, but it was either that, or beg someone for a ride home up the hill, or walk all the way home up the hill.  Yeah, I usually opted for the motorcycle and prayed no one would recognize me! :)  Course I didn't wear a helmet because it would mess up my hair (because the wind blowing through it didn't?) so I'm sure everyone knew who I was, but that was 23 years ago, and who cares now??  I think I'm over it! ha!!

That was a pretty bike, and though much heavier than my high school motorcycle, it was fun!

Addi - part 2

How can I forget to post that we had Addi's party at Peter Piper Pizza?   I love how easy it is, and they think they had the greatest party ever!  Thankfully some of the kids' parents stayed and played with me, so it was a fun day! :)

I LOVE this little bug!!

And, as if she didn't have enough celebrations, Grandma and Grandpa cook took her out for lunch and ice cream and a carousel ride at the mall!  My kids are so lucky to have 2 wonderful sets of grandparents that love them and do so much for them!

Happy 5th Birthday Addi!!!

Our sweet, crazy little girl turned 5!  She was so excited to be a big girl and be going to school, and kept telling everyone she is 5 now.  So cute - we love our bug!!!

We had cake and ice cream to celebrate.  Then, she got some pretty amazing presents!  Yes, she got her first bike, and the Barbie Malibu dream house and convertible Corvette.  Pure entertainment for hours!

Little did I know that the very next morning Addi would insist on riding her bike to school, even though she never has ridden a bike!  So, that meant I got to jog along behind and make sure she knew what she was doing.  She was so proud of herself!!

On the way home I got smart and followed them in the air conditioned car.  No need to jog after them all dressed up when it is 110 degrees outside! :)

Of course you must end the day with cake and ice cream.

My XXst birthday

The day started with a beautiful and easy bike ride with my great friends Beth and Lisa.  Of course we rode to Crackers for a little breakfast! :)

Those poor pancakes, eggs and french toast didn't stand a chance!

Then, somehow I was lucky enough to go to lunch with more friends from my new ward.  I love these girls!  I also love Tia Rosa's, so you can't go wrong there! :)  Got a free ice cream thing for being the birthday girl!

Then, the feeding/eating frenzy continued as we had cake and ice cream that night with the kids.  I was so full from breakfast and lunch that I couldn't eat dinner, and could hardly eat cake, but I couldn't let the kids down! ha!!

My favorite birthday card from Lisa:

Kayla gave me this chocolate bar for the birthday.  Loved it! The instructions and fine print are hilarious!

I was well treated (as always) for the birthday and anniversary.  Lane and the kids are great and do a great job!  If only my age were going backward!!!!

Aspen Grove round 2

My awesome sis-in-law Angi is a great picture taker and has a beautiful camera.  Well, we were lucky enough to have them join us for one day at Aspen Grove, and boy did she take a lot of good pictures for us!

So, I HAD to make another collage of the pictures she took!  As you can tell, the kids had a GREAT time!

Love and miss our cousins! :(
