Watch out cancer - you are going to die!!

So today is the big day.  Round 1 of chemotherapy for Lane.  I have to admit - we are having a hard time wrapping our heads around this.  This isn't supposed to happen to 40 year old dads of 4 kids, but it does.  Cancer unfortunately doesn't discriminate against sex, age, color or race.

We will go to the doctor and the hospital today.  They will give him his first treatment today.  Then, they say in about 11 days his hair will fall out.  (Good thing he's a guy on that one!)  Every 21 days for 6 rounds, we will nuke that cancer right out of his body!!  Come October, he will be cancer free, and we will pray for a long, long, long remission.  I am pretty sure no one ever wants to go through this, but sometimes in life we just get thrown some crud.  This is the crud we have to deal with, so we'll take it and beat it.   We can do it because we know the Lord is by our side carrying us through.  Wow, that promise that the Lord doesn't give us anything we can't handle is definitely being put to the test for us.  So, apparently the Lord thinks we are strong, so we will handle this!

We have had great family and friends to help.  We are sooooo thankful for all of that.  We love you all!  Blessings pour out on us every day.  We will remember those.

I'll let everyone know how it goes later.  Have a great day!

I look forward to bald Lane pics. At least he's young enough that people will assume it's intentional and not permanent. This will be rough, but your family is in our prayers. We love you!

Love the attitude! Yes, we are praying that the cancer will die! We also pray that you both will have the courage and stay tough through this. It is only hair! It does grow back, but don't sit in front of the mirror and wait for it.
Love you, Mom
